Atlas Institute

The Atlas Institute for Veterans and Families partnered with Simple Story to create a video series aimed at increasing awareness around Post-Traumatic Stress Injuries among public safety personnel, veterans, and their families. Our role was to craft emotionally resonant, visually compelling videos that broke down complex mental health topics and reduced stigma. From ideation through to production, we worked to ensure every piece of content was accessible, empowering, and aligned with the Institute’s mission to support psychological well-being in high-stress professions.

Videos to Educate and Empower

Public safety personnel face routine exposure to trauma, putting them at higher risk of PTSIs and other psychological challenges. The Atlas Institute set out to address this by creating video resources that could educate, support, and de-stigmatize mental health for PSPs, their families, and organizational leaders. Our task was to translate these goals into a series of videos that felt informative, human, and accessible — even when dealing with complex or sensitive topics.

From Concept to Impactful Content

Working closely with the Atlas Institute team, we developed a video strategy centered on clarity, emotional resonance, and relevance. Our approach combined animation, real stories, and expert voiceovers to bring abstract or clinical topics into real-world focus. The series included testimonial videos featuring PSPs and family members, animated explainer videos to simplify concepts like PTSIs and coping strategies, and a toolkit for leaders focused on moral injury in high-stress environments. Each video was carefully scripted, captioned for accessibility, and reviewed through collaborative feedback loops to ensure it landed with accuracy and care.
